NCAA D1 Auburn University Softball Alumni Reference on Kasey:

“Upon arriving in Perth, Western Australia we have found ourselves amongst many different levels of talent and abilities in the world of softball. As former division 1 collegiate athletes, myself and Makenna Dowell always love to compete and challenge our skills. Upon playing against an opposing team, we were confronted with a player named Kasey Shaw whose softball IQ and passion for the game immediately stuck out. She asked tons of questions regarding the game, and used every practice as an opportunity to learn new things. She has an incredible amount of athleticism, and a competitive edge much like players from the States. A young lead off batter who already understands the importance of seeing pitches and putting the ball in play to benefit the team. Kasey is extremely coachable and carries herself with the utmost amount of humility and confidence. She would be a great addition to any team as a positive leader and hard working teammate” – Justus Perry and Mackenna Dowell

College Education Goals?

“Achieving a diploma, certificate, or degree holds significant value to me, as I place equal importance on both my academic and athletic pursuits. My goal is to acquire a degree in either Psychology or Sport Sciences. I would also like to test and prove myself against the best softball athletes from other colleges”

College and Softball Goals?

“My Goals for college are to lead my team to winning a national championship as one of the top players in my conference as well as receiving a degree, certificate or diploma in my chosen field of study”

Why compete in College Softball?

“I want to compete in college to play softball at a high/intense level in order to challenge myself to be the best player I can be, to do this I know I will need to work hard to reach my potential. Playing in college means competing under new coaches and with different teammates who will all show me new skills or ideas that I have not yet been introduced too, helping me strive for athletic excellence. Having had the opportunity to work with and play against college players from NCAA D1 Auburn University last season in Australia has only intensified my desire to test myself against the best”

What makes you Different?

“As you can see from my achievements I am a consistent performer who loves to lead my teams into battle. I am very much a team player and understand the importance of doing what is best for the team in any moment. I have the ability to always remain calm and relaxed when things aren’t going right for me or my team. I believe my temperament, work ethic and internal desire to succeed allows me to perform consistently in big moments, lead from the front and use my positive energy to lift my teammates. Having a down to earth nature I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I love “showing the way” and pushing my teammates towards achieving excellence as well as keeping up with my advanced schoolwork to achieve good grades, spending quality time with family and working a part time job”

Life Goals?

“I aspire to make the Australian National Team (Aussie spirit), pursue a place on the 2032 Olympic team, achieve success in my chosen career, and explore the world to immerse myself in new experiences”
