Education Goals?

“My passions in study are in Sports & Medicine, so I will want to study something within the undergraduate space to prepare for me for a suitable Degree as my choices narrow down during my time in College”

College Goals?

“With my schooling and soccer, I set high expectations for myself. Because of this I strive to succeed and am highly motivated to complete everything to the best of my ability while setting goals along the way to keep me on track. The academic goals I have set for myself are to complete 4 years of study successfully, at a very high standard. I am extremely passionate about soccer and this makes me quite determined to achieve high standards and goals. First and foremost, I want to grow not only as a player (Goalkeeper) but as a teammate as well. This would entail growing my leadership skills as well as game awareness, my technical and tactical skillset. Overall, I want to build strong positive relationships and experiences throughout my time in college”

Why do you want to compete in College Soccer as a Goalkeeper in the USA?

“For me college is the best of both worlds. It enables me to balance my studies and obtain my degree, whilst training and competing in an elite soccer environment. Along with that the experiences being in the college environment would be something incomparable to a lot of other places. The exposure I would obtain is a lot higher than it would be for me continuing to compete where I am currently and therefore help me reach my lifelong goal.
Something I am really excited about is growing as a person and an athlete simultaneously; this involves challenging myself by stepping out of my comfort zone to achieve higher results performance wise and academically. I have had role models and mentors that I have looked up to that have gone through the American college pathway and said how positively it has impacted them”

What makes you different?

“From a young age I have been very goal driven and determined to reach those goals. This is evident with all the hard work I put in outside of school or club soccer trainings to achieve what I have already in my 7 years of playing soccer. My passion for Goalkeeping is something I have found is a lot higher than others; and has always overpowered any challenges and setbacks I have faced throughout my soccer journey, building my resilience, and furthering my motivation to improve and succeed. One of my biggest strengths is my ability to analyze a game. This involves being able to read the game live, breaking it down afterwards and my ability to communicate what I’ve ascertained to my teammates. Currently I have a fairly high workload with completing my SACE (high school diploma), a VET course (Vocational Training Education) and work placement (internship) simultaneously, as well as being in the classroom 3 times a week. Due to this I have learnt how to develop good time-management skills. This is along with a heavy sporting workload, including recovery after soccer sessions. I am also involved in a lot of school events as I am part of the student leadership team, so these are an extra commitment that I have to work into my schedule. I was selected by my peers and teachers to be a representative for my class this year. This has given me ample opportunities to lead by example, grow my leadership skills, represent student voices and the soccer program”

Life Goals?

“Since I started playing soccer my life goal has always been to make it to a professional level, whether this be playing overseas, representing my country or in the professional soccer A-league in Australia. I personally have seen how much of an impact having female role models are and this is something I’m really passionate about. I hope that what I do is something that can help future female soccer players believe in themselves to make it to the next level. Being in a position of facing many setbacks over the years, it has shaped me into who I am and helped me set particular goals. I gained lots of valuable knowledge that I can pass on to other younger players to help them develop themselves as a person and soccer player. I have also realized that soccer is one of my biggest passions and something that not only impacts someone physically but mentally as well. When I obtain my degree, I aim to be within a job that can help me continue to grow as a person and challenge me along the way. I want to find a career that I am passionate about and will lead me to developing several different skills. Additionally, I would love to experience different cultures and expand my intercultural understanding”
